Abstract
Purpose : This study is to concrete the genomic cohort of 12,000 subjects based on the health examinee center.

Methods : Based on the general hospital examination center(College of Medicine, Sungkyunkwan University, College of Medicine, Inje University, Green Hospital, College of Medicine, Kosin University, College of Medicine, Donga University), we planed to recruit 6400 subjects in Seoul and 5600 subjects in Busan. Also networking across the institute was set.

Results : We totally recruited subjects 12,314 subjects. Data on general lifestyle, physical activity, diet, reproductive factors, and psychosocial variables were collected through face to face direct interview using a structured questionnaire. A biological materials with several aliquots (serum, plasma, DNA, packed erythrocytes) were stored at the central biobank for future analysis. Web-based database was developed for the efficient and reliable data entry. The prevalence of metabolic syndrome(MS) was 11.6% of males and 10.7% of females in 40s, 11.6% of males and 10.7% of females in 40s, 24%of males and 21% of females in 50s, and it showed higher prevalence in more 60s. BMI was associated with metabolic syndrome risk. Ans smoking was also strong risk factor.

Conclusion : This study could be a useful model of health examinee cohort. OMR system reduced data input error and could improved data quality.
